RE: Legal question: Is a search warrant required for RV entry?

an odd question i would say if you dont want them to search it what are you hiding in there would be there and my question does your firearm protect you from what you are carrying in your trailer do you get where im going most people have no problem with the police searching there vehicles or trailers up in canada anyhow i mean no disrespect to you in your question but if you have nothing to hide dont worry about it and even if they did need a search warrant probable cause is all they really need and if not theyll probably just do it anyhow getting smart with cops and your rights especially when consealled firearms are involved be careful good luck and happy travels rob in canada We are proud of our freedom in America and have fought hard to protect it. The fact I have nothing to hide is even more reason for me to resent being searched without cause. Jack I totally agree Jack.

RE: Natural Gas based Diesel Hybrid Engines

CNG gas stations already exist here in the U.S.(not many though). Two problems that I know of for this technology. 1 - and many have already eludded to this is filling stations but bigger is that the filling stations would need to be located on major NG pipelines, not like the pipe that goes to your house or neiborhood. They would need to have some type of storage facility because the pipeline would not be able to provide the demand quantity required at the pressures we provide NG in our existing pipelines. 2 - Power - NG will not provide the same BTU power ratio output that diesel does and will seam very underpowered. I had a LP school bus for several years, while it did operate effectively it did have several issues specific to LP fuel. And then there is the other side of this, if we start using CNG to power our cars(in any large quantity) guess what is going to happen to your home heating fuel bill?

RE: DP Oil Change Tip

Ditto chasfm11, the Fumoto valve is the only way to go, for $25 it's the best maintenance investment I have ever made!

RE: Future without trucks

Of course, that means they (GM/Ford/Chrysler) actually have to make and sell enough of the 30 mpg cars to offset the 10 mpg truck... And there is the real issue if people do not want that little tin foil thin car that gets 30,40,50 or what ever mpg then what are we to do?

RE: Future without trucks

Big three will be around for a long time, and they will still make trucks.

RE: VA hearing test - odd way to go about it.

So, roughly what is 10% for tinnitus. I was on the Flightline and End of Runway, F4's, F5's, F111's, A10's, and T33's. Can't hear diddly except for the squealing. 10% of the national debt? 10% of the bailout? Right now 10% of 0 is still 0. No one has been able to say what the 10% is. Does anybody here know? Thanks in advance. This is cut and pasted from the federal benifits manual for va compensations. It is also available on the site in full va.gov 16 Veterans with Service-Connected Disabilities Chapter 2 Disability Compensation Rates for Veterans Veteran’s Disability Rating Monthly Rate Paid to Veterans 10 percent $117 20 percent $230 30 percent* $356 40 percent* $512 50 percent* $728 60 percent* $921 70 percent* $1,161 80 percent* $1,349 90 percent* $1,517 100 percent* $2,527

RE: Winnebago Dual Fuel Option

One problem with propane that goes along with the lower btu is this causes less power production. We owned a propane bus, while it would do okay in town to pick up and deliver but out on the highway it was a real dog compared even to regular gas buses.

RE: National Interstate Insurance?

Was struck while stopped at a red light by someone who had them, they denied any responsibility(and that was after the police had cited her for the accident) and had to high a lawyer to pay for damages(all I originally asked for was repairs to the vehicle). Would never do business with such a company.

RE: difficulty getting online credit report

Have had no problems getting my free redit report online. You can also submit in writing to the credit angencies and they will provide one each year this way as well.

RE: Tow Vehicle vs tow dolly

Tow dollies are easy to use and store, we just slip ours under the end of the MH. Have used one for several years. We have just switched to a trailer due to towing requirements of our new tow vehicle. Much prefer dollies over towing 4 down, as four down is much more convienent but creates more wear and tear on the tow vehicles ( dollies are cheap). JMHO.

RE: Help-Electrical Question

Since you have checked them with a meter and the unit will operate directly though the 50 amp cord to the genny my though is one of three things you could do, remember just because you checked with the meter does not mean those cords are safe they could be failing under load, possible courses of action, (1) replace all pigtails and any extension cord used and plug them in (2) open all breakers(in the trailer) then plug in again(I don't like this one but it might isolate to a component in the trailer) (3) find an electrician who will test your cords with a load tester then test your trailer circuits. Electricity kills be careful. you could be creating a live ground situation, if you not sure get an electrician.

RE: Help-Electrical Question

Sounds like maybe one the pigtails or the service cord into the MH is shorted, if you have an ohm meter, without any power connected to anything check continuity between the leads of each of the terminals of each of the pigtails and the cords independentaly of each other.

RE: Discount Gas Club

I love how people speak with no real info on a subject, you are probably one of those that told me I could not legally get wireless internet for my computer for $15 dollars a month (that I have received from ATT for 2 years now).

RE: Discount Gas Club

I did not see any fuzzy math, very clear. Not really sure how they can do this and make any money so it may very well be a scam but if you read the advertisement it states quote "How Does it Work? 1. Buy a Discount Gas Club Card. You will get an electronic Discount Gas Club Card via email with gas purchase instructions. 2. Print your gas purchase certificate(s) for the value of the card option purchased. 3. Buy gas at the local station of your choice or any place that sells gas in the United States. 4. Mail the completed gas redemption(s) and original gas receipt(s) to the club. 5. We will process your gas redemption(s) within 72 hours of their being received, then send a check for the FULL amount of gas redeemed, according to the gas purchase and redemption instructions" buy card then buy gas then submit spent receipt and receive check for amount spent very clear May very well be a scam though.

RE: Boondocking in CA

Those who suggest that boondocking can happen in a city or someplace that is big enough to have a Wal-Mart have probably never lived in the Boondocks. The boondocks existed before RV's were around. Boondocking would seemingly have to occur in the boondocks. Merriman-Webster defines boondocks as: 1 : rough country filled with dense brush 2 : a rural area : sticks http://aolsvc.merriam-webster.aol.com/dictionary/boondocks. I guess some people could have different definitions of what constitutes being "out in the sticks" though. I myself don't even consider myself dry camping when in a Wal-Mart parking lot. I am just parking overnight in a vehicle that happens to have some conveniences for living and thankful that I am not having to sleep in a parked car or worse because of economic reasons. If you notice by your own quote Merriam-Webster does not recognize the word boondocking as a word so quoting them is really of no basis of definition because they don't recognize the word (or part of a word) as even a part of the English language. One listing for the term boondocking that comes from the website boondocking.org says "What is Boondocking? Boondocking is free camping, generally out in the boondocks. " Like I said, it is in the I of the beholding. Here is website. I do not support this website, just using it as a source for the term. Looked interesting though. Boondocking.org

Thanks for the post, it was entertaining. I think boondocking is in the eye of the beholder, no matter where you are.

RE: New law in California - text messaging while driving

There was a tentative plan to restrict text messaging in the next year or two. Then about two weeks ago a train operator failed to see a red signal while he was texting. He as one of the 30+ people killed in the train crash. A side effect of this was that plans moved up. Killing people will get politicians to move a little faster. He broke a rule. Had he survived he might have lost his job over the infraction. Come now maybe we can back date the law so we can fine his estate! Just another law that is in reality unenforceable and will be used in abuse to serve the purpose of who ever can twist the intent. Driving and texting is incredibly stupid, but so is using a circular saw to cut items sitting in your lap(as far as I know there is no law against it). The stupid will be punished, try not to be around.
